BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

Actually, ‘Biomedical engineering’ refers to the use of principles of engineering disciplines for clinical diagnosis and therapy and for investigating the physiological basis of disease. With the rise in life expectancy and improvement in the quality of life, the demand for better health-related products and services has been increasing. The biomedical industry is characterized by improvement and complexity, and the constant search for new confrontations. It provides artificial organs, implant devices, cardiac assist devices, diagnostics and therapeutics, catheterization and imaging equipment. Biomedical engineering also includes molecular and cellular engineering, tissue engineering, plasma engineering, intracellular physiological control mechanisms, drug regulation and drug delivery systems, rehabilitation engineering, and aids for the feeble and the disabled.

Biomedical Engineering is an exciting and fast-moving field with ever-changing boundaries. Here at CBEAS, we are pushing those boundaries in a number of overlapping and interrelated areas.
